When a company changes their motto away from “don’t be evil” you know damn well they are evil.

If we are in a voice call I will never watch anything anyone sends to me immediately because they are going to continue talking over it anyway.
If the video is something I am genuinely interested in I will watch it regardless of length, otherwise 5 to 7 minutes is my max range.
Shirasho@lemmings.worldto PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Out-of-nowhere roguelike hit Megabonk has sold 1 million copies in 2 weeks, solo creator says "I'll be eating spaghetti with EXTRA sauce tonight"English59·7 days agoIt kept me up way past my bedtime last night.
With that said, it suffers pretty hard from a problem inherent to the genre. The more you unlock the less fun it becomes. Unlike other survivor games, silver coins are very precious and you can unlock items way faster than you can unlock banishes. Ive also died countless times due to being stunlocked after a first hit. You can get knocked into other enemies with absolutely no way to recover depending on your momentum. Finally, items dont tell you what they do until you unlock them. Can waste silver early.
With all this said, I don’t regret my purchase. I’m having fun with it and there is still plenty of room for me to git gud.
Shirasho@lemmings.worldto Apple@lemmy.world•Well I can no longer be part of the beta program...71·15 days agoThis is not anything new. They were selling laptops with $200 worth of parts for $999 when Apple was starting to take off. Highway robbery is nothing new for them.
Shirasho@lemmings.worldto Programming@programming.dev•Which is more important to you in a language, feature richness or documentation quality?3·1 month agoDepends on the intuitiveness of the UX. When it comes to API, as both a developer and an end user I would rather have it fully documented than have to spend hours digging through forums to figure out if something is even supported.
With that said, as much as I hate it, features lead to sales. When someone is shopping for a product they look at what it can do and whether it meets their needs. They don’t care how well documented something is. If it can’t do what they need they will look elsewhere.
Making the new wall is not a money generator. You would be insane if you think suits would waste money to rebuild something when it generated minimal to no additional revenue.
Any other Democratic president.
They are not allowed to charge you for this, and it was not made clear in any way that your former boss would charge you. Any lawyer worth their salt would laugh this out of court.
In many areas they are also legally obligated to give you the information you requested free of charge.

Shirasho@lemmings.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If we can ban trans medical procedures, why haven't we banned circumcision?0·2 years agoThere is scientific evidence that circumcision results in the area being cleaner and easier to maintain. I’m not denying it is child mutilation, but you also shouldn’t just sweep it under the rug as religious bullshittery.
Not a hot take at all. Asking someone to go from a GUI heavy operating system to a command line heavy one and be just as productive is lunacy. Like all major changes it is important to ween off the old thing.
My biggest hurdle with the switch has been permission related issues, and you can’t deal with those cleanly with a UI, and every help thread under the sun throws out a bunch of command line commands giving a solution without explaining why those changes are needed. It may seem like Unix 101 to experienced Linux users, but it is really cryptic to newcomers coming from operating systems that are…cough more lenient with their permissions.
There is also a mentality that UIs are much more idiot proof than command line. UIs are written by people who actually know the OS so we can’t accidentally delete our home folder because of a typo. It is a very legitimate concern.
This is not thread safe.
