Thanks for the correction. I play through Heroic and haven’t really needed to use what you listed, probably why it’s a blind spot for me. But it’s also why I prefer GOG, no downsides for me.

If you wanted to be tagged as a steam fanboy just say so 😅
The only one feature GOG doesn’t have that Steam has that I can think of is the workshop, but they have all the rest like savegame cloud sync etc.
EDIT: @sugar_in_your_tea@sh.itjust.works’s comment below points out additional missing features.
It was a callback to how one game journalist complained about the difficulty of Cuphead making it hard for him to review. Source1, Source2.
Not all games are catered to everyone. The fun of this game like many other hard games is dedicating the time to master them.
For instance I still suck at Rocket League even though I’ve played it on and off for a decade.
Another win for GOG? DRM free and their servers didn’t crash.
Although it is sad to see that people don’t buy enough from GOG for them to crash… I guess people like their DRM.
“Easy mode” aka “game journalist mode”
I’ve smelled the diesel fumes and heard the backup generators near my city’s old telephone/internet central during a city blackout a bit over a decade ago, so at least those stay on during blackouts, but you’d think that various boxes along the way to the central might need power, right?
I’ll keep my eye on this. I’m still on CopyQ (with env QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb
), which isn’t all that great for native wayland windows.
“visage de la petite mort” is amazing.

EDIT: a few disagreed, at least with their votes, but you don’t see this military obsession anywhere else, except perhaps North Korea.
EDIT2: I find it funny that I’ve gone from -2 to -5 and still nobody has written a reply explaining exactly what I’ve said is “wrong”. The thing is that I think I’m right, and unless someone else explains why I’m wrong, that’s not going to change anything! USA is a joke! Just like North Korea! Just like any authoritarian country! And in case you were on the fence: FUCK THE POLICE!
Until 2021 when I got my new PC, I still had a bluray/cd/dvd burner, although I don’t recall ever using it for burning anything. I guess that era is finally getting laid to rest.
Also, way back when it was a requirement to burn CD’s and DVD’s in order to install operating systems like linux, I don’t ever recall using a CD-RW disc. I guess I thought of them a bit like potions in skyrim where by the end of the game I end up with hundreds of them and then never using them when I really needed to.
Thanks for the update on that, it would seem that it was struggling indeed.
