Germany has become kind of a safe haven for a lot of Open Source projects. What’s so bad about it?

Germany is turning into a mass surveillance state.

They didn’t have Palantir software in the past. There was also a lot more resistance to mass surveillance. And the political parties were less extreme (Nowadays everyone wants to use it).

Kind of. But hopefully at a slower rate / more reversible manner than the rest of the world.

Not kind of. Germany is so ahead in certain aspects Russia copied it. Example: Data preservation. Germany is not a safe haven. Never was, never will be.
