Italian pasta western?
Spaghetti Western is a very common term for those movies, or at least it was when I grew up. Sergio Leone was one of the pioneers of the genre so I guess that’s where the name comes from?
Don’t forget Ennio Morricone’s musical genius. Many of the most iconic scores in Western films are his compositions.
IMO the score for the good the bad and the ugly is one of the all time classics and Ecstasy of Gold is incredible.
A lot of the classical westerns were produced by Italians. Even ones with Clint Eastwood. Hence the term spaghetti Western.
Italian productions were also profilic in making Mad Max clones (post apocalyptic action) and Conan clones (sword and sandals action) in the 80s, but I am not aware of a specific name for these styles.
Spaghetti-pocalypse? Spag and sword fantasy?
Pesto-apocalyptic, Calzone the Barbarian…
I tried.
Those are infinitely better
So is this developed, written, or produced by an Italian? The spaghetti seems like a misattributed description here.
