Just to point out for at least a year CBC has essentially done what the author suggests where there’s a article about how bad something is but then slips in a paragraph at the end with some MAGA or MAGA adjacent source that tries to justify it with little substance.

Just to add a example for this although I posted quite a few in the past want to see more.

During the election Pierre said he’d override the Charter of Rights https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/pierre-poilievre-notwithstanding-clause-1.7509802

      This end excerpt.

And to be clear the reason the Supreme Court overturned it was because it was a violation of the charter and violating the charter for the duration of the Parliament is still violation the charter.

There was also a thread of the same guy defending the infamous Peterson quote about women just being holes, but it looks like he deleted it. This just suffice as to what the guy is about although you could just look through the guy’s twitter account.

Oof. That’s egregious. So according to some people even though the CBC slips up and platforms this kind of moron, it’s still not “pluralistic/bipartisan” enough. That’s their whole deal: it will never be enough.

I wouldn’t say they’re slip ups, they made a very deliberate push to APPEAR less partisan at the cost accurate portrayal of events. Even the titles have gotten a bit on the click bait side.

I still consider CBC to be the best large scale news source in Canada and generally decent. But there’s some serious issues brewing.

CBC has nerfed itself because it cares more about it’s budget than the integrity of the news. Same thing happened to NPR and now it’s just gardening shows.

The budget needs to be hard lined and indexed, not under control of any political party. As it stands in 2025, it’s watered down timid garbage and the good journos have left or been fired. When Poilievre had a 30 point lead (LOL), they kissed his ass twice a week.
