      It’s wild that there’s no configuration of SRBs that doesn’t have offset thrust. Wonder how much of the energy was lost because the boosters and main engines had to be angled, so the overall center of thrust and center of gravity were still in line, and the damned thing could fly straight?

        Unless you’ve got the center of mass of the rocket+payload perfectly dead center, you’ll need to angle and offset thrust anyway, or you need to add ballast to center your mass.

        There might be cargo configurations where assymetric boosters are actually MORE efficient, which is the really mindblowing thing.
