I called out my dad for his hateful views on social media. Really hateful. Like calling Michelle Obama a monkey and calling for the extermination of lgbtq+. I told him I’ve had more people in those groups help me in my life than he ever has, and by being passive towards his hate I was dishonoring them and the work they did for me.

He wrote me out of his will. (I didn’t lose much, he made near minimum wage his whole life, but it’s all he had left to do). He hasn’t spoken to me in 9 years now since then. Don’t care. Much better people have filled the role.

Climate change is the number one thing. The past had fascism, tools, slavery - but it didn’t have an Extinction level event looming just cresting over the horizon. I’m not having any kids until there is actual meaningful progress towards fixing that… So it looks like I’m not having kids.

Only pain will you find down that path. I did that for years, but it’s a pain. You have to disable so many security features, and I found it to be incredibly brittle. I found myself fearing all proxmox upgrades because each time it would break the lxcs. I wish you luck

Was at a resort a few years back and they pulled the same shit. Paid for the one round, but what would have been multiple days of day drinking and spending there turned into us finding a pool, but then going to the local bar instead. People there were great, exchanged stories, and spent probably a quarter of what we would have at the pool.

If they had even just charged half of what they were we probably would have stayed and they would have made a few hundred off of us on drinks alone, but they got so greedy they lost out on everything else.

Yeah I think it’s time for an urbanism community here on Lemmy. I’ve been on the fence but I’m all for spreading more awareness that things like this are not normal.

Personally I like the Qwen models mostly when I’m at home. They’ve been proven fairly competent. I run a sled hosted Tabby copilot alternative for vs code too that I’ve come to enjoy.
