I cannot stress to people how much rowing is actually enjoyable as someone who doesn’t want to “make time” for working out. It’s so relaxing.

Yeah, the first time it happened on Google Maps I thought it was just an issue with like that small section of bridge/overpass, but then it did it again and I was just stuck in the same traffic but now even further behind. It was incredibly odd. By like the 4th time I was like “ok, if I don’t stop using you then it’s on me for being so frustrated.”

Here in Cali I’ve noticed it’s actually better. Google Maps has been ass for the last 4 years for me. Wrong data, it takes me randomly off the freeway only to loop my back and put me right back where I got off. It has completely wrong traffic data, and it has road closures it thinks are still open. When I travel around the bay for work I mostly use Apple Maps.

I like how you’re calling bullshit on a study because you feel like you know better.
Read the report, and go check the study. They note that the biggest gains in human visibility for displays comes from contrast (largest reason), brightness, and color accuracy. All of which has drastically increased over the last 15 years. Look at a really good high end 1080p monitor and a low end 4k monitor and you will actively choose the 1080p monitor. It’s more pleasing to the eye, and you don’t notice the difference in pixel size at that scale.
Sure distance plays some level of scale, but they also noted that by performing the test at the same distance with the same size. They’re controlling for a variable you aren’t even controlling for in your own comment.

It’s listed in order of importance for a reason.
I didn’t add •keep friends and maintain relationships, because you can’t buy that. You earn it. I don’t worry about my back when it’s turned, that’s what friends are for. I worry about having enough of the first three to help everyone around me get through the same problems. Also, it should go without saying that the point of the ammo is to never have to use it. I’m not intending for someone to come and take what I have.

• food • ammo • gold.
I agree that if the US economy tanks so will everything else. The difference to me is that I want basics to get me through, and ammo for if it turns worse. The gold is just because precious metals tend to retain value while currency can lose its value if it isn’t pegged to the “gold” standard.
Also don’t forget that when times get tough people unfortunately get more violent if they aren’t fed and are struggling.

I mean… one of the great wonders of the world is literally a border wall with its own border patrol that was placed on it. Albeit a lot more complex than that, but that’s sort of the gist of it. It helped to keep “invaders” out and operated as an early warning system, but effectively was a border patrol.

That’s why it’s bolted to a concrete slab from the inside.

Since the other comments seem to be less than useful ideas on things you didn’t ask about…
I keep my NAS/Video server for my home cameras in my gun safe. Costco has a gun safe (really can be used for anything like documents too since it’s fire rated) that had power cable running to the inside. I used the same path to run a data cable and keep it all locked up in there with a monitor mounted on top and a UPS in the middle. My safe is close to my room with the idea being if someone wanted to break in I’d keep the footage. Not that anyone would, but like you seem to be asking I’m more concerned about the what if.
The rest of the switches/routers/WAP Controller is located in my home office closet inside of one of those on-Q boxes in the wall.

This is all over the place.
If you click the link in this post it takes you to a mastodon comment from the official Proton account stating exactly the same beliefs as this board member. If that isn’t in the name of Proton what is?
People ARE looking at the details of this. If this company starts cozying up to an alt-right “dictator for a day” government then when/where does this stop? There’s nuance beyond just Proton and Andy said something scandalous here. It’s layers of political issues that spell a privacy focused company having an inability to actually keep the government out of my shit.
Culture war would be if they took a stance on DEI. This is political and has actual consequences.
Why are you trying to defend a fucking corporation? When has a company ever not become evil as they look to grow? It’s just the nature of the beast. The people here, and the OP specifically, have called out Proton is over for them. They’re not saying you should do the same. Just that they’re going to take a step back and others expressing they’ll join.

I love how you’re claiming misinformation while posting misinformation. It’s not the CEO, it’s a board member. That said, the company also officially posted these ideas on their Bluesky account.
This isn’t a “CEO” expressing a belief, it’s the board, and now the official company line.
I’m not disagreeing with their post particularly on corporate dems, but this is a company and not a persons sole belief.
Also, if dems are the party of big business then why are all these big businesses donating to Trump? Does that just mean republicans are the party of even bigger business?
I suspect the “threatens economic stability” is stuff like printers that can produce dollars and the type of paper/thread/plastic material that makes up modern currency. I think people are looking for a conspiracy here when it’s just a logical choice. Some things people shouldn’t have a playbook on how to create.
