No, I don’t think it does. The list of trans people I know keeps getting longer as years go on. Only ever knew one person who detransitioned and they were very clear about it being a choice they made for convenience, rather than what they wanted.

Gender transition is not a fad. It is people realizing that old-world categorizations reflect new-world ideas a little less effectively every day. It is people rejecting the tyranny of having an identity chosen for you instead of just doing what you like and being who you are. It is the symbolic idea of freedom of choice and the actualization of one’s real self. That’s not something that fizzles out. The genie has left the bottle and the world will continue to change because of it.

In what way do you mean this? Are you asking if we think a bunch of trans people are deciding to not be trans anymore or if we think public support for trans people is diminishing?

If our feelings are formed by chemicals and waves in the brain, then what would be false about happiness from those sources? Is it actually false happiness, or is it possibly just happiness derived from stigmatized/alternative sources?
