I’d give it a try regardless.
I’d give it a try regardless.
AI bullshit
Who fucking cares? Fuck these assholes on principle.
The Master
This…is not what this project represents or is meant for. Christ.
I can’t count the number of times people gloss over the actual useful tools they are given in the immutable world, and try and distill it down to being about desktop bullshit.
NIX IS FOR REPRODUCIBLE BUILDS. That’s fucking it, seriously. It’s literally on their website.
Stop trying to put a hat on a hat for some random crap you thought was a good idea.
IT’S A HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE FOR NEW USERS TRYING TO RUN A DESKTOP. Steer clear.
Edit: this is some dumb shit
Although we cannot achieve complete system reproducibility, the /home directory, being an important user directory, contains many necessary configuration files
That’s literally all it’s good for… reproducible builds.
Fuck off whoever posted this.
Edit2: oh wait… It’s the boot account that is polluting everything in these threads
Metadata and context is the difference.
Using fd you literally only grab a list of, well…file descriptors. It’s not looking into content of anything, and specific built-ins ignore things like contents of gitignore files. See for yourself.
You’re comparing apples and oranges here.
If you have 100GB, the question is more about what you want it to scan, and why. If you don’t need to know where media files are, exclude those directories. Same with git repos and such.
What’s your power profile set to?
Edit: check this comment
Seems a lot of people reference those tweaks to fixing audio issues generally.
It’s not at all. It’s obvious you didn’t watch it. The guy goes deep in on topics and looks at counterpoints to discuss the merits of whatever gets brought up.
You’re just lazy AF 🤣
Linking to source materials just means you’re discussing a topic mentioned elsewhere. Where you been?
Looks like the certified refurbished units direct from them are also still really expensive. It’s become incredibly popular in recent months.
Nope. If you’re talking SOC, nothing like that exists anywhere near this price point. If you just mean a cheap x86 machine, find a used minipc or something on eBay, but it’s going to be a crapshoot.
This is his original video 🤣
Minisforum v3. Should be able to get it at a decent price by now.
Edit: of this is going to be an all day type of thing, you may just want to stick with a lower power android tablet though, not that I’m thinking about it. The v3 is a great form factor, and works perfectly with a stylus, but it packs a big CPU, and both the Gnome and KDE full tablet exper5leaves something to be desired. You’ll definitely need to charge if using for a full day of classes.
It’s one of my daily drivers. Both Gnome and KDE run great. The only tweak I’ve had to make is for the custom volume buttons, but there’s a collection of scripts and profile fixes for various things here JIC: https://github.com/mudkipme/awesome-minisforum-v3
Probably a change in the device assignment from Pipewire, and not the keys themselves. Hit GitHub looking for anything in the past few months that mentions your specific model by name. See if bugs have been filed, or amended configs posted.
Minisforum V3. You should be able to get one at a great price.
Insurgency probably has the best human-like AI I’ve seen in a shooter game.
The usual suspects:
From experience, stay away from any of the bigger OEM models, regardless of how attractive the price is, UNLESS you have direct knowledge of their compatibility. Lenovo, Dell, HP…etc have all been ramping up their enshittification, and you’re almost guaranteed to have a bad time.
