As brickfrog mentioned, you can stream MP4 easily if you enable both sequential download and first/last piece (any torrent client worth its salt has these options).

I am genuinely curious what containers you are refering to. The only ones that come to mind are DVD and BD.

MKV definitely streams great, IIRC so do AVI and MP4. Almost all video torrents are in MKV with some older ones in AVI and few random MP4s here and there.

The one other issue is RAR’d releases, those can’t be streamed. I honestly don’t understand why people post RAR’d video as it doesn’t really save space.

The other issue (perhaps a much more important one) with streaming torrents is sometimes you can’t get a high enough speed to stream in real time, but that tends to be limited to more niche content (that often isn’t even available via any streaming provider).

I clarified what I meant by economic dead end. It’s not going to happen tomorrow or even in ten years. But absolute corruption, rollback of democracy and a population where a large number of people support crime and corruption will have a caustic effect in the long term. It’s a straw man to suggest that I was claiming an immense collapse in American economic might.

I don’t think you understand the extent to which American “soft power” is being eroded right now. What countries have you lived in? What languages other than English do you speak? Do you have close friends in other countries?

Of course America is major economy, that doesn’t mean the rest of the world doesn’t exist. Just look at the state of Chinese products in the early 2000s and where they are now.

US has done really bad things, but they have done good things as well. I can’t say the same about say China or Russia.

Honestly, if you are going the Linux route, you might as well get a headless Linux setup (no GUI, just command line), install qbittorrent-nox and access qbitborrent via the webUI.

You will save a massive amount of RAM, desk space and probably even CPU time.
