As soon as chuds like you started showing up here, yes. It was nice for a while.
I bet a trillion dollars you’ve never met anyone who opted for MAID. 10 trillion even. I’d bet my life.
I have.
You are speaking from your sphincter and you ate dairy.

jaemo@sh.itjust.worksto Canada@lemmy.ca•Rob Shaw: Poilievre talks BC Ferries-China deal in 1-on-1 interview one day after byelection win2·9 days agoPP absolutely should weigh in on BC ferries. IIRC the last politician who made this a signature issue was the very memorable Glen Clark that everyone is always talking about.
And of course we all remember how that catapulted him to fame, success and a decades-long reign as premiere and how it was definitely not his own petard by which he hoisted himself.
It seems like a trouble-free topic, not at all fraught with consequences should it be mishandled. Given PP’s penchant for (giggle) erudite eloquence, and totally not putting his foot in his mouth at the very first picosecond of opportunity, it should be nothin’ but net for the guy!

I’m not sure if it helps but when I ran his speeches through audio acoustic analysis software, the comparison was “plate of beans negotiating it’s way out of a cow’s digestive tract”.

I don’t subscribe to justice via my hunches, and do not want my country to either.
Edit: is it your assertion that any other judge we’ve appointed, having been properly briefed with respect to the relevant facts in both parties, would be unqualified? If so, should your ire not be better directed at the glaring inefficiencies in our purportedly completely ineffective justice system?

jaemo@sh.itjust.worksto Canada@lemmy.ca•Air Canada union says flight attendants will continue strike, defy government16·12 days agoWhy even allow for the appearance of bias? Are we in a d drought of judges? Was there NO other judge with a lack of any attachments to Air Canada?
It strains credulity to breaking point, and as a member of the public, this is where our judgement is relevant. Ie: is our system working for us, or are some shitty people gaming things. I know where I land on this one; the lingering smell of influence and corruption hangs like a bygone fart near an overstuffed leather chair.

Yes but it feels performative. Taking a wait and see approach.
I just want my partner to be able to afford a car, we already have an EV. There’s zero convincing me to buy an ICE vehicle; that ship’s sailed. I’m happy to support both Ontario AND Saskatchewan, but the current cost and selection of vehicles we make domestically cost more than they are worth and FUCKING SUCK.
