yeah, uBlock origin usually works, but it doesn’t block everything. uMatrix is a bit of a compromise between ublock origin and disabling javascript.

carbon free? how do you know that nobody emptied a bottle of sparkling water in there?
also, more seriously, does anyone realize that there are greenhouse gasses way more dangerous than carbon dioxyde, like methane?
Oooh! I currently use termusic, I’ll try out this app tomorrow!
github pages is free but it is owned by microsoft, how is this better than linktree?
I’m between weird guy and outcast: I ise Artix, mullvad and also my browser is librewolf with uMatrix. I also use Reticulum but not a lot because it’s not very known.
just a reminder: there’s not only libreoffice, there’s also onlyoffice: it’s like the microsoft suite but with TABS(and it’s open source)
I do history | grep keyword
.
I use calyxos so it should be fine. but this is so fucking annoying. we need to do something. now if you want android users to install your apps they have to pay to have them on the google play store… and I doubt anyone will stop them. next year will be the year of the linux(not android) mobile.
with ublock origin you would have to edit the blocklist and add the url you want to block/unblock. with umatrix you have a table like this:
you can block/unblock domains, and also change the global configuration. I, by default, block all javascript and XHR and enable some if they are needed.
And ethical hacking and law-abiding hacking aren’t the same either
I prefer saying ‘grey hat’ instead of ‘ethical hacker’ because ethical hacker is now used to mean ‘pentester’, ‘red teamer’ and all the other cybersecurity stuff, or so it seems to me.
that was the entire meaning of my comment, I clearly didn’t make it clear enough.
I’m pretty sure that’s what’s meant by ‘ethical hacker’ in most cases and that’s why I wanted to point out the difference you are pointing out right now.
with umatrix you have a table of each domain this site is using and can toggle, for each of them, javascript, xhr, media, images and other stuff. of course, uMatrix is not an ad blocker but tracking blocker, so you can’t block html elements.
I do not want any hacking device to be illegal, as they can be used for good(overthrowing the state and capitalism).
not doing something by fear of the law is not ethical. that said, some of them are ethical, but ethical hacker would mostly include grey hats, which they wouldn’t want because they can’t say illegal hackers use their device.
aren’t both bad? I don’t know adguard but already ublock origin didn’t have enough options to unbreak websites, it was either on or off, so lite… now I just use uMatrix and adjust the settings for each site.
“ethical hacker’s swiss army knife” I hate it when they always add “ethical”. First of all, when you say ethical you mean law-fearing, they don’t really care about ethics and, secondly, “regular” hackers use it too, so it’s just a hacker’s swiss army knife…
I use uMatrix, which blocks js by default, so it is a bit inconvenient to have to enable js for some sites. websites which didn’t need it before, which is often the reason I use them, now require javascript.
for latex I understand, but not having titles be big is a sacrifice I’m willing to take.
that’s not what the quote says, and, freedom is also being able to make fun of someone saying that 2 + 2 = 4
lol I didn’t even notice… well then ig I might move to lineage. at least if I don’t have updates I won’t have google’s shit for sure!
