I know lots of Jewish people and most of them say they’re anti-genocide and then say that this isn’t a genocide. And if it is a genocide, then the Palestinians deserve it. I don’t know if this belief is so pervasive because they’re Jewish or because I’m from Texas with family in Israel.
All’s I know is that most of the Jews I know would have been totally cool with Hitler as long as he wasn’t killing too many Jews. I’m so fucking disappointed and disgusted by my family and community.

Everything in the manual and product guide described integrated circuits. But in the '70s, people either didn’t know what ICs were or they thought those were only in computers and Atari cartridges. With a name and pedigree like Marantz, hearing that the warm dulcet sounds you always loved were now being coldly processed by transistors would have likely been too much.

I say go for it. I’m more of the “I hope they cancel so that I can wallow and spiral alone at home” kind of people, but I loved dating at your age. Primarily because it was an opportunity to possibly gain a friend and you might make someone’s night better by just being yourself.
And if they wholly reject you as a person, you can brush it off as “dates are awkward to begin with, I’m sure I started with a disadvantage.” And then learn from that. If y’all decide to be friends instead, you can ask her what parts of the date she liked and how you could improve your next date.
Everyone’s talking about how the worst she can do is say no. I disagree. The worst she can do is want a second date because then you have to charge up your social battery for that. Sometimes, though, you find someone who’s worth tapping into your social battery, and sometimes, it just comes naturally and you find someone who makes you feel like you can be you.
That’s because color hadn’t been invented yet and therefore people could only see in black and white. That’s why old shows don’t have color.

That’s a gross overgeneralization. When my synagogue needed a substitute rabbi, they temporarily hired Rabbi Kaye. When we complained that he was creepy and aggressive, our parents said they were uncomfortable with him and had him fired. I don’t think he was even around long enough for anyone to fully realize how problematic he was.
That being said, I’ve met far more problematic religious leaders than well-intentioned folks.
