Both work, though they have some rough edges. ALVR relies on SteamVR, while WiVRN uses the open source Monado backend. Both can play Steam games however.

That’s more than enough to either rent a few modern servers or save take the donations from a few months and get a new server.
They mention “Fixing build failures” on Liberapay, so they should definitely use some money for that.
Archived after years of inactivity, so it was somewhat predictable.
exu@feditown.comto Linux@lemmy.ml•Are distros really different or is it more about preference?English1·8 days agoThe main difference has traditionally been the package manager and update schedule, though a distro might offer several options for the second one.
Relatively recently we got another differentiating feature with immutable distros, where updates don’t happen with a package manager but often by downloading or building a complete new image with the newer versions.
Other than that distros mainly set the defaults for you, but you can always change that to work or look like another distro with enough effort.
Basically, don’t worry about it and use what works for you

I use them often at work to group an issue with related tabs and my attempts at solving it. Also makes it easier to pause work on one problem and work on something else because I have the tabs grouper and know exactly where to go back.

That’s a completely different VPN than what the rest the comments are talking about
