Hey, I’m one of those! Started using Bazzite in July, have absolutely fallen in love. My whole gaming library is available, which has been a real first for me with Linux.

Honestly? Yeah so far. I swapped to Bazzite after getting a new AMD rig in early July. There was a little bit of setup for the first few weeks, but it’s worked perfectly for the whole last month.
I did have many, many issues on my last computer when I was on an Nvidia card though. My impressions are that Linux can be very hardware dependent, and Nvidia is kinda notorious for not supporting their hardware.
It’s really hard, but it’s been consistently like 90-95 degrees outside and I don’t have A/C. Kinda had to get used to sleeping with a fan blowing directly on me. I still miss my blanket though, as soon as the fall comes I will return to burrito.
because the alternatives are unconscionable. Consumerist capitalist mono-culture is going to eat its own tail and kill everyone in the process.
I do think theory is a very good way to recruit people. When the facts are presented fairly, rational people will not choose capitalism.
Where would you go? This trend is not unique to Canada, it’s happening all across the West. Every liberal democracy will eventually end up like this.
If your worry is that a corporation will report you for piracy, than you have a false dichotomy. Both SteamOS and especially modern Windows are both corpo controlled platforms. You’d be far better off running something like Bazzite off the handheld if the goal is to get away from closed-source systems. You also wouldn’t have to run things through Steam to get non-steam games working, there’s other options that would still allow you to use Proton as your compatibility layer.
god I really love the idea of just lore dumping some military atrocities on a reporter live, I feel like it should happen more
I think about this a lot. We have essentially, purely through accident tbh, created a society that we are evolutionary unprepared to live in. So much of our typical day to day is actually horrible for our bodies and often antithetical to their good function.
In a strange way, it’s almost incredible. We have invented a rock that we cannot lift.
As much as I would like to be friendly, I live in America. The reality of the situation is that a lot of the people who will survive the initial hardship are going to be conservative preppers who currently try to deny my right to exist. There’s no way I could be friendly with them, just as I would not expect them to be able to be friendly with me.
