The last Emperor of China was a child when his rule ended, and he ended up being a gardener and street cleaner in his later life.

And they ended up being more annoying to buckle for people with less mobility because they’d have to twist two directions to reach both ends of the lap belt, whereas the standard 3-point allowed them to more easily reach the belt when it was retracted.
chiliedogg@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do american white evangelicals love Donald Trump?91·5 days agoI’m very Christian, and I don’t understand how people can see him.as anything but vile.
Jesus only really straight-up threatens damnation in Matthew 25, and it’s all about the treatment of foreigners, the hungry, the poor, the sick, and the imprisoned.
Everything about Trump is antithetical to Christianity.
Yeah, when I carried it all the time I was fixing shit left and right.
What it’s really good for is all the little annoyances you notice day to day that aren’t worth a trip to the garage in the moment.
Door knob slightly loose in the back bedroom? Fixed next time you walk in. Drawer sticking? Take care of it now instead of forcing it and forgetting about it later. You don’t even realize how much of that stuff there is until you have the multitool handy at all times.
And the bit driver really is a game changer. You can get a ratcheting version now too.
Bought it years ago on Etsy. Just looked in my email history, and it looks like it was from a user named HoldMyGear. Looks like they’re still active, and they have a version for the ratcheting bit driver too.
I have a 3d printer, but it doesn’t look like the stl is available anywhere. It’s printed really well, though. I don’t know what material it is, but it’s held up a lot better than standard PLA or PETG would.
Edit: looks like he has one for the Surge as well.
I actually don’t edc it anymore. I have an office job now, and half that giant belt clip doesn’t really fit in with the business- casual attire.
But I do keep them in my car, and happened to be using them today in time for those pictures because we’re moving offices this week and I was using them to take apart monitor arms, cut boxes, etc.

Nah - it was boring stuff like 3d printing, guns, and PC building.
We’re both gear nerds.
Years ago, in the scuba subreddit, I posted some pictures of some gear sets we had in a glass case in our shop we’d recovered along with the bodies of their divers in a local cave. It’s our warning not to fuck around with cave diving without the proper gear and training.
Another person in the sub started chatting about some other interesting memorabilia I’d put up in the shop, and it was clear he was one of my divemasters.
So he and I suddenly knew each other’s reddit handles, and turned out our paths had crossed in several other niche subs, and we realized how many hobbies we didn’t even realize we shared despite hanging out weekly at the shop.
chiliedogg@lemmy.worldto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL there is a law called Marchetti's Constant. Humans only tolerate commutes of less than ~1 hour. Housing outside that limit will fail.English0·20 days agoThat’s me.
I work in a very small city entirely surrounded by a much larger one. The one I work for is an enclave for the 0.1%. The average new home build here is over 10 times the price that of the major city that surrounds us, which is also very expensive for the region.
Suffice to say, I can’t live here. I live in a shitty trailer that’s about 2 hours away with traffic, but costs $700 a month as opposed to $3000+ for a tiny 1-room apartment near work.
The commute sucks, but I save $115 every day I commute.
Fortunately, I like audio books.

They know what they’re doing is wrong and don’t want to be held accountable if their fascist rule collapses.
That’s the point. Musk wants control over the entire internet.
If all the other internet infrastructure was abandoned, he would be the most powerful person in history. Want to regulate him afterwards? He could just shut down the internet in your region until you accept his terms.
