  • for real, on windows getting an update meant “ugh what thing do i need to disable now”

now on Linux, it’s “whoa, that’s a cool feature!” and “OMG THEY FINALLY FIXED THAT FINALLY”

the most negative thing is when they change something and you gotta get used to the new way. im not the biggest fan of the recent changes to Dolphin (the file manager, not the emulator), but it’s fine and I’ll get used to it. it’s not worse now, just different

  • i hope he wins the lawsuit (the forced migration with no refunds was very bad), but dammit that guy sounds insufferable.

in the first video, one of his main motivators for starting the lawsuit, was that he made a server with guns, mojang made servers with guns against their eula, but just after this guy paid the 1000$ for the twitter gold checkmark on his server’s account…

mojang making shitty eula decisions sucks, but is it grounds to sue? idk

  • i know activision did it with the crash team racing remake. at launch, you could buy in game items (like racers) with in-game currency. it’s a currency you only obtained through playing the game, you couldn’t buy it with real money.

…until activision made it possible to buy the in game currency, and to accompany that, tremendously raised the price of all the items to entice you to pay…

as a kid I grew up with basically every generation of nintendo consoles up to the Wii U, as well as a PC (well, a mac really but whatever) and I turned out fine

i missed out on some of the big sensations of the moment, like fortnite or COD, but tbh I didn’t care, these games never interested me and they still don’t
