Leave it out and it’ll be 90% oil, 10% pure poison.

Red_October@piefed.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does the GOP think “ANTIFA” is bad?English14·6 days agoThe GOP doesn’t think they are fascists. They think the term is only being used to try to deride them without actually being correct. From there, when they see “Anti-fascists” constantly opposing THEM, they think it’s just some violent group that has used an ad hominem attack for their name.
It would be comparable to someone making an anti-shithead group, and then that group is always out trying to stop you from doing whatever you do. Not only would they be a direct problem for you, but the fact that they’re targeting you would imply then that they’re also calling you a shithead.
Red_October@piefed.worldto Out of the loop@lemmy.world•Wasn't there already a Gaza ceasefire? Why is it in the news again?English3·7 days agoIsrael already dropped more bombs mere hours after it was announced so I wouldn’t hold your breath that this one’s gonna last. I expect that just like all the past Israel-Gaza ceasefires this is basically just for the press saying they’re trying for peace, while they barely even hesitate before continuing the genocide.

I can't wait...English3·10 days agoJust a little clarification on the Alaspa PFD (Permanent Fund Dividend), it’s not paid monthly, but rather annually, and the amount it pays out changes from year to year depending on oil revenue for that year, which is where the fund comes from in the first place. This year it’s only $1000. For an idea of amounts, in 2020 it was only $992 (Covid just ruined everything everywhere) while in 2022 it was as high as $3,284.
It is still basically UBI though, even if the amount per year isn’t even enough to entirely offset the added expense of living in Alaska.

I’m pretty sure that’s a setting that’s off by default, but it’s definitely a setting.
All we can hope for is that after EA gets absolutely gutted, a bunch of new indy splinter studios spring up to use their development experience minus the corpo cash grabbery.

There is absolutely bad press, just because we’re talking about it doesn’t mean it’s good for the product. For every one schmuck who thinks they’ll buy Borderlands 4 just to prove how good their computer is, there’s a hundred people who have decided never to buy it at all and half if them have written off gearbox entirely.
Red_October@piefed.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do people really not care that we live in a society that favours assholes or are there so many more assholes than nice people that it's unstoppable?English13·1 month agoI don’t know where you’re getting the idea that people don’t care. People do care, a lot of people care a lot. Part of the problem is that people who want to act ethically and politely, people who want to minimize harm, are going to be at a distinct disadvantage when opposing people for whom the ends always justify the means, and the ends they seek are their own betterment above all else.
If your idea of action is sternly worded letters and peaceful protest, and my idea of action is violence and unabashed corruption of authority, you’re going to have a real uphill battle to dislodge me from any power I manage to gain. It doesn’t mean the corrupt assholes are unstoppable, only that their methods are more aligned with the acquisition and retention of power.

Some people just should not have contact with the public. However good he might or might not be in his work on the project itself, someone should have told him to sit down and shut up and let someone who knows how not to damage the entire game with a single statement handle the communication.

So your position is that Greenheart Games, which as far as I can tell has fewer than 10 employees, is too corporate?
