Love the proportions, those are some mighty clean joints as well.
If you’re thinking of keeping the cishions outiade, you can make your own waterproof covers by mixing clear silicone sealant with isopropyl alcohol and painting that onto your choice of fabric.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Android@lemmy.world•Looking for a 2025 recommendation for a phone with a headphone jackEnglish5·20 days agoHonourable mention for the Xperia 1V as well, worth the price if you can get one refurbished (Unfortunately there’s a bit of bloat but if you’re looking to have your own OS on it then not an issue)
They don’t want to show both because that would show readers exactly when a couple thousand new accounts all start talking about one polarising topic to get everyone agreeing.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there an increasing trend in the fear of germs/contamination (Mysophobia/Germophobia) ever since Covid-19, or is it just me?8·24 days agoI don’t even think there was an increasing trend DURING C19
I didn’t live in a big town during the happenings, but would regularly see people openly coughing, touching their faces and touching absolutely everything they can.
I’m just amazed we didn’t wipe out more of the population
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the odds that we are all in a simulation?1·30 days agoHey now, don’t go blaming the minimum wage workers for not being fully trained.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is this generations Nirvana, Limp Bizkit, Tupac, or Rage against the machine?61·30 days agoZeal and Ardor.
An absolute top tier band that stand for human rights and who’s lyrics reflect their beliefs.
Created by a black metal artist from Sweden who made one of the best black metal albums of the past 5 years, who have since released banger after banger.

Also seconded/thirded on Run the Jewels. “Close your eyes and count to fuck” is on the forever playlist.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the odds that we are all in a simulation?4·30 days agoIf we are I want a word with the dev team. This shit needs a rebalance ASAP. Gravity wells are too OP, black hole mergers should not warp the fabric of spacetime.
And don’t even get me started on Gamma Ray Bursts or Vacuum Decay.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the most upbeat songs with kind of depressing lyrics?3·1 month agoHEALTH - everything from the band is banger after banger but with lyrics that’ll leave you feeling a certain type of sad

Cheers for the clarification

See I thought the curie temperature was a ‘one and done’ sort of deal where you have to go through the process of remagnetizing the magnet after it had gone beyond that point.
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Technology@lemmy.world•(Technology Connections) Desiccant dehumidifiers are fascinating... but not for everyone [29:19]English31·1 month agoNot sure where they said they “did an entire presentation on this thing” or where they got their information from. I’m only adding some context to what I know of how thermostats work. I would gladly admit I’m wrong if provided with some evidence.
If you want a visual demonstration of a thermostat working here’s a video.
(For context I don’t mean to come across as one of those “well ackshually” asshats, I just like watching people take apart electronics (was also slightly obsessed with magnets as a kid. MANY hard drives were sacrificed to my curiosity lol).)
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Technology@lemmy.world•(Technology Connections) Desiccant dehumidifiers are fascinating... but not for everyone [29:19]English81·1 month agohttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curie_temperature I doubt they’re using magnets, especially considering how hot they have to get to lose their magnetism as you suggest.
Most thermostats in electronics such as kettles and cookers use a bi-metallic strip inside, where the two metal layers expand at different rates. The contacts in the switch are physically pulled apart by the strip bending when the desired temperature is reached. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bimetallic_strip
NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How would you propose we actually combat climate change?15·1 month agoGenuinely there needs to be a fee that companies must pay for the pollution they create, with it written into law that they can’t palm the cost off on their customers.
We need to move shipping away from the ‘barely more refined than crude oil’ fuels they use
We need to ensure protection of the oceans by making it so that outflowing waste from industry never reaches the watercourse in the first place.
Single use plastics need to be removed from the supply chain (alternatively changed at the production level so they’re made from plant cellulose or a material that doesn’t break down into PFOAS or microplastics)
We also need to block petrochemical companies from lobbying or interfering with politics, and prevent them from funding smear campaigns against renewable energy sources

NihilsineNefas@slrpnk.netto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•my youtube algorithm kinda sucks rn, recommend me some1·1 month agoGot a few science and tech channels; Tech Ingredients - in depth breakdowns of semi advanced technology from the perspective of a guy that can explain every step, how to build it yourself it and how to modify it to be better, may be a lecturer or just a very knowledgeable engineer. (most recent vid was building an underground heatsink to turn an inefficient window aircon unit into an absolute beast of a cooler, channel has also made DIY Graphene and ultra reflective paint for passively cooling buildings)
AvE - ‘Good old uncle bumblefuck’ a guy that takes apart tools and goes through the good the bad and the ugly. Occasionally posts machining videos, often amusing breakdowns of cheap tools.
Bigclivedotcom - Scotsman that buys ebay electronics and shows the good the bad and the ugly of how they’re made/what will kill you if it gains a fault.
Acorn to Arabella; A climber with access to a few generations old woodland, hand builds a boat from a 1920s design, learns to sail and sets off on an adventure (currently out sailing, lots of very satisfying build videos such as melting lead over a bonfire and pouring a multi-tonne keel.
Still tech-y but more lighthearted; Nilered - Modern day equivalent of a mad scientist, has made alcohol from toiler paper, grape soda out of nitrile gloves and cherry soda out of tolulene.
William Osman - the most ADHD of adult neurodivergents, currently trying to make a farm in his back garden (where the ground is 90% sand) He runs Open Sauce, which is a technology and creator convention. Also wrote a tv show called Scare the Coyote
StyroPyro - another mad scientist but with lasers this time, builder of the macrowave - a microwave so overpowered it can melt tungsten and make plasma out of almost anything instantly. Sometimes goes storm chasing.
Please demonstrate this by aiming your gun at a cop and arguing that you weren’t brandishing with however many brand new holes.
