Linux@lemmy.ml•Is it so hard to get Nvidia GPUs working with Linux?
1·1 month agoIt’s easy to install nVidia drivers nowadays. The real issues will be using them. Maybe I just got a bad card, but maybe nVidia is actual garbage. I don’t know.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Sonetimes i feel like its a lot of work to stick with linux
2·2 months agoSure is. I have to change my display driver from one version to another, to be able to play different games. Otherwise, some games freeze my system within few seconds of launching the game (also happens during local video full-screen playback). The linux guys will tell me, “oh, it’s just because your distro install was corrupt”, or “definitely a hardware issue”, “PSU failing / GPU failing”, etc. but no, that’s just how linux works. there will always be some system configurations that are bound to have these problems. this is similar to linux users “choosing” not to play the games that don’t work on linux distributions.

01·2 months agoI game using DualShock4 controllers connected via cable. The bluetooth connection is complete garbage and starts lagging from 2 meters already. Maybe the cheapest BT dongles aren’t the best for gaming.
same was happening to me. games blacking out, or pc completely freezing during the loading screen. so right now, I am on 550.163.01. guess my graphics card is just outdated by nvidia standards.
