After kinda stopping Just Cause 3 (just got same-y after getting the jetpack and taking over most of the world) but barely done any of the missions I decided to finally start Hollow Knight. Loved it but I can already tell it’s going to be challenging (I’ve got to the Fungal Wastes) and I just don’t have the patience to get gud enough to finish it. But it scratched my metroidvania itch. I wanted a more narrative have and as I’ve recently upgraded to a 9070xt and 5k2k (G75f in case anyone was wondering), so I started playing The Longest Journey! HD modded version but it’s still a 25yo game so can run on a potato. Seems good so far.

Also it shouldn’t be forgotten that other countries have got a lot better during that time and the USSR was also big into doping.

A muse is someone who inspires them to do the thing. They don’t necessarily have to do anything for the other person to be inspired by them.

An example could be an artist who is inspired to paint his favourite model numerous times in different lights and conditions as they just seem to be the right fit for them.

Or the songwriter telling songs about love or heartbreak from their own perspective and history as they had that with someone.

Personally I prefer to give mine to charities that help women escape domestic violence households and need help setting up their lives again. Many leave with nothing, including their phones which are usually being tracked by their abuser. Have a look around to find one, or a local homeless shelter. Or, if you’re worried it will become ewaste, send it to a recycling centre - many parts can be stripped out and made into new products.

So…if you’re just using web stuff, you could probably save a heap by using a Chromebook. That’s what my wife’s personal laptop is and is perfect for web stuff (and has the option of Android apps too, like Mozilla). It’s not her only computer though.

Voyager is a very different feeling show but still 24 century based. I think it’s got better with age - but also, when compared to most of the modern shows, it is more political and follows the usual concepts of a Trek show. Not the action focused stuff it is now (sadly)

I’m fairly new to Lemmy and started an account when all the api’s went down (because the reddit app suck) but ended up back there when I got one of them to work (at cost).

Until I got banned for “hate speech” by a random mod because they didn’t know the lyrics to Fairytale of New York and appeals go nowhere and then I commented on something on a different user account and got perma-banned for ban-evasion. All dumb.

So now I’m back on lemmy permanently, trying to find as many communities as I had in my reddit subscriptions (I had a lot), and bringing my daily engagement here. Would be good if numbers went up, but also, there’s a lot of idiots on Reddit too. The Fediverse needs better SEO to drive engagement. I haven’t once seen a solution to a problem (e.g. IT, tech or DIY) that links to a fedi page.

Depends. If she’s from certain places, the ignorance kinda comes with the territory. But if she’s willing to learn and is aware of her ignorance, that’s a different thing.

To me, I couldn’t date someone dumb. I find intellectual stimulation sexy though. But I’d rather date an idiot with a good personality than someone smart who yelled at wait staff for example.
