I was honestly surprised at how many people were there on a weekday in April. It was still hot as balls then too. I ended up mostly sifting at the water troughs because they are under roofs. I think someone did find a diamond that day, but I only came away with about a quart of interesting rocks for my rock tumbler.
If you go, go with someone who would be really into it as well. I dragged my hubby there and he was miserable but tolerated it for a while for my sake.

The person wanted to be left up there where they were, and they may have been glad to share the spot with you while you had lunch.
Be sure to wash your britches though.

Truth. They clearly needed a decoy cake. And the real one gets secured in a cabinet or fridge. Preferably behind high security locks.
