I feel like the steam machine could actually change the trajectory of gaming. I mean look at the playstation 5. It was crazy overhyped, they don’t have any games, pay to play online, the next one is around the corner. The xbox is somehow even worse. If the steam machine sells, linux is gonna see an insane push and the game developers have to sink or swim.

I wouldn’t be scared to stand on it, or even jump on it. But what is there even to gain?

I have a nostalgic bone for GTA. But i don’t care anymore. GTAO was supposed to be the be all end all of games. A fun sandbox to play with friends. But it turns out, it’s just really boring. The missions are boring, the grind is boring and you have to deal with people who like GTA. They introduced the oppressor at some point because the grind was so boring and then, what a shocker, the Oppressor became the grief machine. So now everyone needs a flying bike that probably a lot pay as much real life money as the game itself. It’s just a shit company that makes nice looking games that don’t even play well.

I go to a barber every now and then and I don’t really like small talk a lot. Because he has a lot of customers, he just barely remembers me and always asks: you play video games too, right. I’d say rust is a great game with the worst community and therefore riddled with cheaters and unplayable.

I think the game is pretty fun, but it heavily relies on the people who play it. To me it’s impossible to play. Rust players are usually 15 hours a day online. If you play on eu servers, good luck playing against mostly russians who have nothing going on in their lives than being assholes online.

That sounds like a lot of effort and money to spend on the biggest franchises on the planet. Pokemongos buy their slop no matter what.

I love Half life alyx. I played maybe half an hour, and i don’t think i’ll ever play more. Just the thought of putting the vr headset back on puts me off. I thought VR would be great for me, because i do a lot of sports anyway and i like to move around. But sweating while playing video games isn’t as fun as it seems. Especially when you sweat a lot in and around the goggles. Like i said, it’s an experience, not really more. On a side note, i also learned i’m a huuuge pussy when it comes to VR games. I really don’t know what it is, i was never scared of a movie or video game or anything really. In vr looking into a dark hole where something might jump scare me, really isn’t for me at all.

“art” in general is just as dumb as AI. People don’t want to hear this, but a painting isn’t worth 120 million dollars. I was once at an art show that had some amazing looking pieces. But at the same time there was a guy on stage who had. A bowl of spaghetti on a chair and he flipped the chair over and yelled: “hazzaa” and people clapped and talked about how provocative and great it was. One of my favourite museums has this huge painting that is just blue. Even when i was a child, i asked the museum guy what the point was, because everyone could do that. He was pretty defensive and explained that first of all, you can’t just buy a canvas that big. Okay… Got it. Then he kept going: see, the artist didn’t just paint it blue, he painted it many shades of blue until it was perfect. Okay… Got that too, but it wasn’t even “perfect” it was kinda shitty. Of course that was the point, it had to look exactly like that. Ah got it, that makes it worth millions of dollars i guess.

I really want to love VR, but it’s just not for me. And i don’t think i’m alone with that. To me, VR is something you try in a mall for 20min and think it’s cool and not something you want to play around with home.
