I’m not sure if we should clue them in so they can laugh too, or keep them in the dark for our own private amusement. Either way, it’s fucking hilarious.

When cats bring you food, mice, birds, etc. it’s because they think you’re an especially stupid cat, but they like you enough to keep trying to take care of/teach you.

Because the corporations write the rules. Literally; laws are written by corps and presented to lawmakers along with “gifts” and “campaign donations” - and implicit quid pro quo. They then present them to be voted upon, sometimes without even bothering to read them.

It must be so nice to see such a small bar for your defense spending.

Because the government, federal and state level (especially conservative) hate public education and fight to defund it as much as possible. Largely because an educated populace is a dangerous populace. Especially when your political platform relies on identity politics, culture wars, cheating, screwing over the poor, opposing minorities, religious fundamentalism, and any other regressive, oppressive bullshit you can think of. They want stupid voters that they can point at “the enemy” and pit against each other to distract them from facts, all so they can stay rich and powerful.
