I don’t like cloudflare but it’s nice that they allow people to stop AI scrapping if they want to

woops, you’re completely right. Got fucked by an LLM. I thought I had checked but it seems like I only did for mastodon and trusted it for the rest
Mailcow seems to be on GPL, not AGPL as well
My bad. I was searching for examples but that’s still bad
the devil you don’t
You’re saying the reputable company is a devil we don’t know? If you want to be dishonest, try a bit harder.
What you should say is “What’s better? The devil you know or the unknown entity that claims to be an angel (and that hasn’t been caught doing bad things since its existence, a few years)?”
That’s for deployed services that others are using.
What I meant to say is that it’s a public mastodon, gitea, mailcow instance
then talk to a lawyer who specializes in copyright for your jurisdiction
It would be a nice answer, but I’m not going to if I’m not going to make money with the projects. I can’t justify this spending
is ProtonVPN a scam then? no.
Most are, but not necessarily
better than having a company that is directly known as watching you and sending all of it to your government
some companies have built a strong reputation
In all cases, copyright generally only applies to distribution. If you do not distribute any code or software, you are most likely fine.
With AGPL, if people use the derivative work over the web, you have to provide the source and document the modifications that were made
Why would it with GPL? AGPL is GPL with an added clause
If I create a script that interacts with the API it’s not considered a part of the software then?
spam spam spam spam spam
And no it isn’t
Keep your personal opinions to yourself and stop spreading misinformation
Alright, thanks
sure, but I hoped for a community with some activity
the lemmy.world one seems like it’s owned by someone who registered random community names
that sucks, surely some people needed it
This one is great and asks you to contact members of the European Parliament
change.org doesn’t do shit and it’s bad for privacy and anonymity
Because the other browsers have less features, and the other owners suck as well. As for the browser itself, Brave it probably the best chrome-based one out there for desktop
Same problem here but JS is enabled
edit: cleared cookies and removed useragent spoofing in brave shields and it seemed to have worked
They do have a point though. It would be great to let per-prompt searches go through, but not mass scrapping
I believe a lot of websites don’t want both though
