Pffff. We still love orange juice, just not oranges sourced from countries run by Orange-coloured child rapists.
If you’re in Canada, the company “Oasis” makes orange juice here using Brazilian oranges.
I hand squeezed two oranges from morocco the other day and mixed it with tonic water, put a couple mknt leaves in. Shit was better then any american OJ I’ve ever had.
Mint leaves? Or is it something I don’t know about?
Ya mint, got fat fingers and i dont use autocorrect because reasons
I love how Lula is standing up to Trump!
I’m sure that Orange Juice will taste the same to me as it did last year. I’m not avoiding it because I dislike orange juice, but I dislike giving Republican Florida, home of immigrant concentration camps, my money.
“It’s kind of a collision of tight global supply, changing consumer preferences, and more recently, the tariff overhang in North America.”
No, it’s because the fascist shithole threatened our sovereignty.
fascist shithole threatened our sovereignty.
Why do they not understand this?
Maybe because they are paid not to understand it?
I gave this comment before, but how come we do not buy fruits and vegetables from Cuba instead of the U.S.? I know the US. the propaganda machine keeps running Cuba down and still upset from 60 years ago; however, they are tropical, they have fertile land, and they need the money. What is the problem???
I’m pulling out the 20s for Cuba! They’re a much better neighbour!
Industry analysts like Graydon warn that the impact of these tariffs is being felt more in Canada than in the U.S. Graydon said the measures have had minimal impacts on the U.S. economy, but are contributing to food inflation here. ****
“You can’t take an economy that’s 10 per cent of the U.S. economy and expect our retaliatory tariffs to have any impact.”
Only a few sectors, including Kentucky bourbon, have had “damaging impact” in the U.S., Graydon said.
Really, you think the boycotting from Canada, and I am sure Mexico are not hurting the US? Look at the summer recreation numbers they are hurting because Canadians are not coming down. I am sure all the snowbirds that wont be coming down this winter will hurt too! This is just Canada, they really need to realize that trade deals around the world are going around the US the orange man is killing the US.
EU checking in. Lots of people in my city are boycotting US stuff as much as we can. Even the grocery store has things marked if they’re EU/non and I try to always buy with the little black star now
Tastes like fascism anyway.
I just make my mimosas with peach or cranberry these days. Some things are trickier to avoid but things like oranges or bourbon is meh
Local apple cider is also good.
I have not personally done it, as I just make vinegar with apples. But make your own apple juice I am sure it tastes better, not because of the lack of preservatives but because you made it.
Luckily have several orchards near by, fresh pressed is the only way, along with a bag a hot apple cider donuts of course.
The orange juice coming from the US has been unpalatable for the last decade or so. They’ve all turned into generic standard artificially recomposed but still marketed as 100% orange juice. They used to taste different depending on the seasons and now they’re all the same across the board. Instead, I just eat fruits and water. Plus, orange juice is high in sugar - so it’s not as healthy as people think.
Actually never realized it could taste different in different seasons since I mostly just used concentrate if it bothered with OJ. I’d say I should try more but I already consume more calories than needed anyways so I think my only Florida enjoyment will be when I watch Golden Girls.
Also aren’t most fruit juices high in sugar these days? Least anything you buy in a bottle.
Not that fruit is bad but drinking what would take pounds of fruit to make a glass (I don’t know exact amounts) does come with some some calories via sugar / carbs. An orange sliced up is probably pretty good overall still, but I’m not a nutritionist.
Price has more or less doubled before any tariffs were even announced (at least in BC), so it’s not just about US but also the corporate greed here.
For anyone in Montreal area, Lufa Farms delivers fresh squeezed orange juice.
Yes, the oranges may be from Florida growers, but they are from small businesses doing organic farming.
delicious cranberry juice from massachusetts instead
Keep it, we want nothing from a fascist country run by a child rapist felon.
GTFO
Delicious nothing from the USA instead.
Blegh. No money for fascists countries, no matter what flavour.
