I dunno though, Italy didn’t even form as a kingdom until the 1860s, so an entire culture formed as an afterthought seems perfectly Italian.

I used a coffee maker for 10 years and to replace it my in-laws got me a nice espresso machine. They’re into coffee. I am not.
See, I’d always make a pot of black coffee and pour it into some instant hot cocoa instead of cream and sugar.
When I do the same with fancy espresso shots now I feel like I am directly assaulting Italia.

I have a coworker that does this and they think it’s keeping everything above board but instead they just create openings for opposing councils to second guess and cast doubt on internal processes.
Those kinds of calls are for making determinations and decisions, not airing concerns and greivances for the record.
People’s note taking aren’t always accurate and they aren’t taken under oath. Even when there’s nothing even closely illicit being discussed, it’s not stenography. Best hope you can defend the veracity of your notes in a deposition or before a judge.
All assuming that’s a feature of your job, of course. Otherwise it’s probably entirely irrelevant.
Our old fridge still works but the icemaker and water dispenser broke and then started to spray outside and leak inside if connected.
But we kept it and put it in the garage and keep beverages in it. Man does it feel opulent to have a garage drink fridge.
Kind of like when I became able to afford paper towels. Pure wealth and extravagance.
Lolcowing, apparently.
You just can’t do both.
Road Not Taken and all that.
You’re absolutely correct, however:
Violence is justified on occasion.
This cannot be disentangled from a natural derivative: ‘Tyranny is justified on occasion.’ Just what the occasion is that justifies it is much harder to pin down. Traffic laws can be a form of tyranny, for example.
Importantly, this should not be confused with despotism. The statement ‘Despotism is justified on occasion’ is distinct, and uh, less defensible. Every time there’s even the semblance of a benevolent dictator a religion ends up spawning that plagues humanity for centuries with a fixation on the dictator instead of the benevolence.
So to bring it back, if the wolf wasn’t already blowing down and eating the pigs using straw and wood, he’d have his justification, instead of the convenience of one.

This community is on my Local feed so every so often for the past few years when I see a thread that’s really overreaching to demonize a someone for acknowledging historical events, I have pointed that out.
Thusly, every so often OP tries to start a personal fight with me, usually resulting in deleting my posts or banning me anywhere they can. Goat has reversed it a few times, unprompted, too.
Like I don’t really care for .ml moderation and think its counterproductive. But I just think the beefs are more interpersonal than anything. This is more or less proof.
So for context, I have expressed distain for the Roman Empire, so I am a literal demon to OP. I recognized Batista was a brutal dictator, once too. Cited a primary source, even.
Check my post history and my modlog history. I haven’t ever account hopped, either.

Andropov’s death absolutely sped up the decline of the USSR, even if only by delaying any possible reforms.
Then Chernenko dying immediately after meant Gorbachev was dealing with an overcentralized bureaucracy that was absolutely reeling, instead of one slowly bleeding from a death by a thousand cuts. Gorbachev’s attempts to reform were decades too late by all accounts, so I think they’re making a pretty straightforward interpretation of what’s fairly accepted about the dissolution of the USSR.

Hm. To provide context then: It is an argument device used by Fred Clark, who goes by Slacktivist, in his writing. His posts are hosted on the Patheos site as he is a religious albeit leftist writer. The link I provided is just one article where he uses it.
That should hopefully help you navigate towards it, if you’re so inclined.

It’s a reference that I imagine political people under 35 won’t catch without doing a search online.
A reference:

Plug and play, except you have to provide instructions and chastisement first.

It’s pretty much in the “OGLAF” class of webcomics, but maybe a little more wicked and subtle.

Yuuko would disagree.
I read this is Boomhauer, g’dangit.
I like the pistol just pointed right at him.
I immediately caught the Gothic references/influence which I think was actually a bit of a drawback for me. I was able to predict a lot of the mechanics and story, like being able to figure out essentially a frame perfect way to defeat the strong bandits early in the game and then coasted on that loot.
That said I think it had quite a bit more depth than I was expecting and I appreciated that a great deal.
Now I imagine the dub would be in a thick Boston accent.

They’re scooping up all the data for AI. They rebranded Office to just being AI.
