Which system are you using? SELinux/AppArmot active? Can you share your compose? There are manyavariables at play here.
Other than that: Setting UID/GID via environmental variable is usually wrong, mostly from a design perspective of the container. There is a user directive during build as well as during deploy to use for that.
From a quick look at the docker file it does look like the user you use to run linkding needs to be in the root group.
BUT rootless podman maps the root user (usually to your user ID) to so the root user inside the container has not the same ID as the one outside. So I would suggest setting the permissions of the volume to your user for now.
Another way to figure out which user to use: just start a new/clean instance of the service and look at the new volumes.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is sharpedo blocked in image searches on DuckDuckGo and Bing, but not Google?
71·13 days agoThats what happens when to different AIs don’t communicate with each other… /s-ish
But why? Especially looking at the power supply.
11 and the revelation was delivered by a wet dream. I mean I looked at dicks online before “to compare” but did not realize I was attracted to it. After realizing that it just took about 5 years to start sharing that with my closest friends and another 8 years to share with my family and other friends. Started dating with 26 and have been in a happy relationship ever since (though I would love more fuck buddies, as I am still rather inexperienced there).
They are so fun to yeet at someone. Probably why most companies do not use or allow them.
Nono, the dildo is already integrated in the swing. Thats why they are so happy. Every pull upwards is also a push upwards.
Once you get used to it, it is pretty ideal for typing with both thumbs. The core principle is that the buttons are bigger and less used buttons are placed further outward from the center and at the bottom.
(In this example I’ve highlighed all letters from the bottom 2 rows which are slower to type due to thumb movement. Keep in mind that I am using a german layout for english text, the other layouts place some letters differently.)
It is also great because it causes visible confusion to people seeing my screen or even worse wanting to type something on it.
But most importantly: it works for me. Back when I switched to Typewise open source keyboards did not have swiping (or it wasnt great). And the default keyboard layout is not great for typing with my fat thumbs. Typewise worked so well for me that I do not miss swiping at all. Of course it is a matter of preference.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Bazzite just delivered over a petabyte of ISOs in a single month
38·1 month agoSorry, my bad. 0,36$ per million class b operations. Of course there will be slightly more operations than downloads (e.g. people/bots sarting downloads and aborting them), but still probably cheap.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Bazzite just delivered over a petabyte of ISOs in a single month
69·1 month agoShould be manageable and it is probably less than you would imagine. Just checked real quick: the isos load from download.bazzite.gg, which is a Cloudflare IP. So they are either using it as CDN or even more likely use Cloudflares R2 storage for isos - which would mean they pay for storage (~15$/TB) and operations, but not for egress. This is seems ideal for few but huge files.
So for a single iso (~7 GB) they would pay 0,105$ for storage monthly and additionally 0,36$ per million of class B operations (reads/downloads). Of course they host more than one ISO, but for this example it would have been downloaded about ~150000 times to reach the petabyte.
So yeah, the ISO download is probably less of a problem. (Disclaimer: lot of assumptions, check in with a bazzite dev for clarity)
I just got attached to Typewise (despite not being Open Source sadly). It is one of few apps, where I bought an expensive lifetime option.

Not that I am aware of. Komodo should be compatible with podman as well.
I deploy and update my service similiar to this fantastic guide: https://nickcunningh.am/blog/how-to-automate-version-updates-for-your-self-hosted-docker-containers-with-gitea-renovate-and-komodo
Basically I run Komodo, which pulls a git repo. Renovate opens a PR (and most of the time the changelog is included, so I can quickly check what happened) for new versions. Once merged a webhook fires to tell Komodo to pull the new version.
I really recommend this approach now. Once setup it is very automatic, but not to the point of YOLO-automation like Watchtower and :latest 😅
And since we aren’t in the self hosting community: You can also pay pikapods to host it for you: https://www.pikapods.com/apps#notes
(That being said, I personally prefer Obisidian with Git Sync)
