Can’t wait to see this game top the charts so all the anti-woke chuds will say “well it wasn’t woke to begin with, that’s why it sells well!”

Android@lemdro.id•Google finally released the source code of Android 16 QPR1!English
21·9 days agoThis was supposed to happen in “a few weeks” from September 10th, btw. Meanwhile QPR2 is almost there and we just get QPR1. Can’t wait to see QPR2 source code by the summer of 2026!

24·9 days agoThe noose tightens. After this crap was implemented in the UK, half of the country should be up in flames in protests. But it wasn’t so other countries took note and felt confident doing the same thing.

Open Source@lemmy.ml•FFmpeg to Google: Fund Us or Stop Sending Bugs
93·9 days agoHow ironic. Recently, Google stepped up their game of “let’s kill open source Android”, and when THEY need something done, unpaid open source laborers are supposed to throw away everything and jump on the issue. What’s wrong, Google? The source code for Android 16 QPR1 was supposed to come out “in a few weeks”. They said that on September 10th. Maybe FFmpeg should fix these issues reported by Google “in a few weeks” too?
Sorry, buddy, you’re not allowed to have fun on MY internet.

5·9 days agodeny network access to the keyboard
To be fair, if you’re on GrapheneOS and have play store installed, GBoard can still theoretically send the data, even without network permission, as there is IPC. But that’s getting a bit too paranoid so I don’t want to think about it.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Switching from Gmail to Tutanota = getting burned instantly
30·10 days agoI guess that’s true. This might make me question using some online services and providers altogether if I can avoid it. For example, I don’t think I’ll ever use an online password manager and just stick with local one. Having a situation like this with Bitwarden/Proton Pass would be a nightmare.

Android@lemdro.id•With the Pixel 10 series, Google’s setting new sales recordsEnglish
4·16 days agoAmazing how bad it has gotten just in 2025 alone. We had:
-play integrity api
-changing the monthly security patches into embargoed proprietary blobs
-not releasing device trees for 10 series
-holding back the source code of QPR releases
-the upcoming app installation lockdowns
I guess Pinephone with a 20k mAh powerbank taped to the phone starts looking pretty good…

8·16 days agoBattery issues, overheating, green screens, pink lines, dying modems, a lot of bugs and now that. Truly amazing quality control for the Pixel series.

Oh, well, that “local only” feature didn’t last too long. After all, why waste perfectly good harvestable data?
