Well I got banned off Reddit for no reason, but I think it was using a VPN. I was also in the process of trying to degoogle and increase privacy, so I figured Lemmy was the best option to solve getting banned off reddit and increasing privacy

That’s disappointing. I wanted to just have one account for using both and assumed federation would let me, but that doesn’t seem to be the case :(
Main issue with osmand and comaps is that neither have integrated live public transport data even though the api for that in most cities is free. I feel this could be a really good feature but it hasn’t been touched by any open source map project yet for some reason

Took the name I use everywhere online, put an _, and chose the lowest number I could, which I do on basically every platform

Just letting you know the reason why a man can’t support a family on one income is thanks to the never ending greed of companies, who have made it so real wages have fallen for decades as they increase them so little that they don’t even match inflation

They’re hard if not impossible to discover these days, also most people will join and stay on social platforms where everyone they know are. For example, all my friends use Discord so it’d be social suicide to leave the platform because i’m cutting off my connection to my friends.

Hit the nail on the head. This is something the majority can agree with, that the elite are exploiting us all for their gain no matter who we are. Man, woman, lgbtq, whatever, the elite exploits them all and left wing parties should be promoting this.
Tried boost for reddit but I didn’t like the ui and it seems like they’ve still got the same ui on the Lemmy version
Took a look and love it, mostly because it looks like an iOS app but on Android. I’ve really missed iOS app design and this is just refreshing lol.
I’m on android and the app seems to be iOS only sadly, but thanks anyway. Will remember this one if I ever switch to iOS.
Who was this a surprise to exactly?
